Barkston & Syston Parish Council – Councillor Vacancies (Co‑option)

Barkston & Syston Parish Council currently has vacancies and is seeking to co‑opt 2 new Parish Councillors to join the Council as a councillor for Barkston Parish.

This is an opportunity to play an active role in representing your community, helping shape local priorities, and supporting the future of our villages. No previous experience is required — just an interest in local matters, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to working constructively with others.

Eligibility

You must meet the standard criteria for serving as a Parish Councillor, including:

  • being aged 18 or over
  • being a British, qualifying Commonwealth, or EU citizen
  • and meeting one of the local connection requirements (e.g., residency, employment, or land ownership within the parish)

How to Apply

If you would like to be considered for co‑option:

  • completed Co-Option Application form. Available by e-mailing clerk@barkstonandsystonparishcouncil.gov.uk
