Hough Road – Speed Reduction Request
Email sent to Lincolnshire County Council (LCC). Still no response – further to residents’ concerns need to look at gathering evidence. Clerk to look at options for speed training & surveys

Hedge Outside Bungalows – West Street
Further request sent due to hedge being over grown again FMS Ref:2898024

Pedestrian Island Crossing A607 Barkston

Clerk wrote to LCC re concerns over safety after damage to island again, advised that works were scheduled to replace the Bollard and they would investigate alternative crossing options – Cllr P Martin has also e-mailed them requesting this is reviewed as a matter of urgency. This has also been reported by Vaughn.

Footpath near old School Syston

Clerk reported the path worn out resulting in uneven path with loose gravel along with b=verge collapsing in to path to LCC and received a response - we’ve assessed the path condition and – whilst it has deteriorated it does not yet require further action. If the fault deteriorates significantly then please report this again to us and we will investigate further. Thank you for reporting this matter. Blocked Drain South of Stag A607

This has been reported on Fix my street – Clerk will monitor and escalate to Highways if not resolved to keep on top of flood risk at Stag. – need to also look at drainage ditch opposite village hall

Update on 14/05 Thank you for your report. We've inspected and acknowledged that this gully/system is blocked, but because it is not causing a serious highway safety or property flooding issue we will not be ordering work at this time. Thank you for reporting this matter. – Escalate and Request its cleared

The Parish Council raises no objection in principle to the proposed planting of trees along the site boundary.
However, the Council requests that, should permission be granted, a condition is applied requiring the long-term maintenance of all proposed trees. This should include:
- Appropriate maintenance to ensure successful establishment; and
- The replacement on a like-for-like basis of any tree that dies, becomes diseased, or fails to establish within the first five years, with replanting to occur during the next available planting season.
These measures are considered necessary to ensure that the landscaping delivers its intended visual and environmental benefits over time. Clerk to look into working at weekends.

Pre Application – Land to the east of Honington Road Barkston

Meeting with developers on 14/05/2026 – PC has appreciated the developers agreeing to consult with the PC however the PC were clear at the meeting that they were not able to comment on the current drawings until a formal application was submitted and requested, if possible, a full application is submitted rather than outline planning.

6) Burial Ground

The Clerk suggested that the Burial fees and charges should be reviewed Cllr Burkin also suggested that the Terms and conditions should also be reviewed. Clerk to benchmark against local council and provide a report for next meeting.

7) Playing Field

Cllr Micklewright advised that the asset review was still to be completed. He also advised that Ancaster football club were looking to train on the playing field and as part of that  the committee were also reviewing the Fees and Charges.

The Fete will be held on 5th September.

8) Picnic Area

Clerk to speak to Steve re filling holes

9) Village Hall. 

Cllr Connor advised that the Committee were looking at the costs of installing a Defibrator at the Village Hall.

Cllr Micklewright asked when the AGM will be because it’s not publicised. Cllr Connor to ascertain when and how this is publicised. Cllr Burkin raised that the AGM should be published and requested a copy of the last report.

Need to move forward with Registering the land clerk has confirmed happy to support with this when they are ready.

Clerk suggested we look at linking booking system to Parish Website to support both Playing Field and Village Hall.

Cllr Connor was also asked if there was a Is there a succession plan?

10) Financial Matters

Councillors E-mail’s – The clerk advised the PC that it would be advisable to have Parish e-mails for councillors which would be the same as the clerks so .gov.uk which provide assurances to residents that they are official e-mails from the parish and also offer the Councillors protection for GDPR and Data protection purposes keeping Council and private e-mails separate. The cost would be  £260 plus vat per year.

11) Neighbourhood Plan

Cllr Owen advised that there is a draft plan ready to for revie, it’s a long consultation but draft plan dose hold some weight, currently awaiting planning to review our request for consultation Clerk to chase Update

12) Village History

Cllr Nussey spoke to Janet Baker who has 6-7 scrap books which are a family archive but lots of History of the village. She would like to pass it on to the village (church do not want it.

Believe other residents have material Looking at event to collate material and memories

Look into Funding. And safe keeping going forward

13) Notice Boards and Village Communications

Cllr Burkin suggested that the PC look at the parish communications and provided a discussion paper for Cllrs to review for next meeting which would consider:

• Refurbishment pan for notice Boards Plan,
• Village Welcome Pack
• Grants And Information
• Communication Strategy
